20 Injured After UP Roadways Bus Collides With Tree in Delhi

In the early hours of Saturday, an Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus collided into a tree in South-East Delhi’s Sukhdev Vihar region close to New Friends Colony injuring at least 20 individuals. The driver of the bus absconded after the collision.

At around 3:22 am a call about the accident close to Sukhdev Vihar was received in Police station NFC. The police team hurried to the location immediately.

R.P. Meena, DCP South-East Delhi stated, “A UP roadways bus collided with a tree on Mathura road opposite CRRI office, near CNG pump. Bus was coming from Bah, Agra and en route to ISBT Sarai Kale Khan. Many people were injured.”

Local police moved the injured to Trauma Center, AIIMS. PCR and CATS ambulances also reached to the location.

A case of accident has been filed and the investigation is in progress.

The official added, “The driver of the bus is at large. The Agra depot officials have been informed in this regard.”

1 month ago, in another accident: At least nine individuals lost their lives and about 32 were injured in a collision between a jeep and an Uttar Pradesh roadways bus in Pilibhit, police said.

Because of the impact of the crash, the bus fell into a close-by ditch, they stated, including that the driver of the bus is among the dead.

The accident happened in the Puranpur police station region of the district, a senior police officer stated.

He included that the deceased include passengers of the transport as well as the jeep. He said that seven of the passengers died on the spot and the injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Pilibhit.

Police officers said the accident location was around 40 km away from the district headquarters.
