41 in Nagarjuna Sagar poll fray as 19 candidates withdrew

On the last day of withdrawal, 41 candidates are on the fray for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar segment by-polls.

The polls are to be held on April 17 and the results to be out on May 2. While 19 candidates withdrew their nominations from the fight. The election officials have already rejected 17 nominations citing they are not properly made.

With this a total of 41 members are fighting the by-polls. Initially as many as 77 candidates most of them independents filed nominations.

The returning officer and Miryalaguda RDO Rohit Sing said that 41 candidates are in the fray of the polls after 19 candidates withdrew nominations. The election officials have denied 17 nominations not following due procedures to fill the forms.

The poll body has made necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the polls. The poll officials said that the by-polls will be held on April 17 and the results to be out on May 2.
