Afghan Women Protest Over Right To Education, Employment Against Taliban

Since the Taliban take over Afghanistan, the interim government has assured that they would be providing the right to education and employment to women. However, the delay in the same has triggered protests across the country.

Women Protest In Kabul

As per the latest reports, dozens of women took to the streets of Kabul demanding for their right to education and to seek employment under the New Islamic Emirates rule.

The women chanted slogans for their rights and also lashed out at the international community for ignoring the dire need of providing basic rights to women in the country.

One of the protestors said that they can tolerate hunger but they cannot tolerate injustice.

“We ask for freedom and justice in our country.”

Series Of Protest

The latest protest comes as a part of a series of protests that the Afghan women have been staging since Taliban took over Afghanistan. Previously, there have been multiple incidents of women being manhandled by the Taliban security officials. The female protestors were reportedly assaulted and kept under custody.

Following the protests, the Afghan interim government announced that protests without permission will not be allowed. Later, a pro-Taliban female rally was conducted in Kabul where women chanted Pro-Taliban slogans and expressed their supports to the Islamic Law across the country.
