After incessant rains, the City is now reeling under scorching heat

Following two weeks longs spell of rain last month, the weather condition in Hyderabad city has swiftly took a shift from extreme cloudy climate to extremely high temperature during the last three days.

Citizens, who were bothered of incessant rains last month, are now witnessing scorching heart since the last three days. Thanks to the swift change in the weather condition that brought respite to the people especially of low lying areas that faced inundation issue since the beginning of monsoon season.

According to official statistics, the GHMC area that covered most part of the Hyderabad district has witnessed no rainfall during the last 72 hours. Almost all the 16 areas where the Automated Weather Stations (AWSs) are located such as Charminar Saidabad, Bandlaguda Bahadurpura, Golkonda, Asifnagar, Nampally, Khairatabad, Shaikpet, Amberpet, Himayatnagar Ameerpet, Secunderabad, Tirumalgiri, Maredpally and Musheerabad has witnessed no rains since Friday.

The official statistics also show that the GHMC areas cumulatively received an average rainfall of 752.5 mm as against the normal 591.6 mm during June 1 to October 3 this year with 27 percent deviation. While the Telangana State commulatively received 1013.9 mm as against the 732.7 mm normal rainfall with 37 percent deviation during the same period .

However, other parts of the state keep on witnessing light to moderate rainfall. Atleast 9 out of 33 districts in the state received rainfall since Sunday morning that include Warangal Rural, Mahabubabad, Nizamabad, Mulugu, Jagtial, Nagarkurnool, Adilabad, Sangareddy and Suryapet.

While the Warangal Rural area stood top on the list with 32.3 mm highest rainfall since morning, Mahabubabad received 27.8 mm followed by Nizamabad with 25.3 mm showers in the same period. Other districts in the list with bountiful rainfall are Mulugu (10.8 mm), Jagital 8.3 mm, Nagarkurnool 6.3 mm, Adilabad 5.8 mm and Sangareddy 4.3mm.
