AIMIM is led by successors of Turrebaaz Khan: Owaisi

In a statement on Friday, Asaduddin Owaisi, leader of the AIMIM party and Hyderabad Lok Sabha MP, said his party is led by people who are the successors of Turrebaaz Khan and Maulvi Allauddin who died fighting the British during the first war of independence in 1857, but not of Qasim Rizvi, Razakaar army leader.

Rather than ‘creating a feud’ among Hindus and Muslims based on a simplistic narrative of AIMIM-Nizam-Razakaar, Owaisi called on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to see the multifaceted nature of the region’s history.

The AIMIM leader also stated that Muslims of the Deccan do not need loyalty certificates from the RSS-BJP and can throw them in the garbage. People who did not sweat a drop during the independence movement are now celebrating liberation day, he said.

AIMIM holds National Integration Day rally

On Friday, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party held a massive bike rally in the old city.

The National Integration Rally, led by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and attended by thousands of locals and party workers, was held to commemorate the 75 years of union of the erstwhile Nizam-ruled Hyderabad State with the Union of India in 1948.

The rally began at the Mir Alam Eidgah grounds and proceeded through Bahadurpura, Tadban crossroads, Khaja Pahadi, Nawab Sahab Kunta, Mother Mary Mother Hospital road, and culminated in a public meeting at Teegalkunta.

The public meeting will be addressed by AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Previously, the AIMIM chief had written to the Centre, requesting to celebrate Sept 17 as National Integration Day. TRS, BJP, AIMIM, and Congress are in an aggressive mood and are eagerly preparing to hold celebrations and spread their own message on September 17.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced that the 75th national integration day will be celebrated for three days. The TRS has also stated that the day will be observed as National Integration Day.
