HYDERABAD: Excise and Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud today said that Telangana will host a first-of-its-kind Air Show an event of the National Sports Championship in Mahabubnagar district headquarters.
Addressing a press conference at his minister’s quarters residence here along with sports officials and Mahabub Nagar Collector Venkat Rao, he said that the event will be held for five days from Jan 13 to 17. International players including those won bronze medal in Thailand in paramotoring and gliding among others will be participating The event will showcase skills and capabilities of the persons in Para Motoring, Sky Driving, Hot Air Balloons, and RC Drones he explained.
The minister said that after the formation of Telangana state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered top priority for tourism development apart from others. For the first time in Mahabub Nagar we are going to conduct this national sports event and hope for its success, he said.
The sportspersons in these events will be showcasing their wonderful capabilities and to be appreciated by one and all, he said. Earlier these types of events were just confined to Metro cities like Hyderabad and others and now coming to our town the minister remarked. Air Sports, Adventure Games, and others will be cynosure on the occasion to be enjoyed by the youths, students, sportsmen and women and people alike, he added. Several sportspersons from the district have won laurels to the state and nation he claimed.
With the initiative of IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao several companies of IT, Industries and pharma began their business in the district to see more development in the future. Tourism and transport are being developed on a parallel note in the state, he said.
As part of Bathukamma and State formation day such programs were conducted by the sports wing in Hyderabad he said. A huge number of youths and sports persons from Hyderabad and other states will be coming to witness the biggest ever air show in Mahabub Nagar, he remarked.
