Amberpet Tops the List with 77.8mm Rainfall since Saturday Morning

After a lull of a week, several areas in Hyderabad District witnessed moderate rainfall since Saturday Morning. As of 3.00 pm the entire Hyderabad district received 1.2 millimeter normal rainfall. However, commutatively the district received 639.4 mm normal and 832.5 actual rainfall from October 1 with 30 percent deviation.

Out of 16 mandals of the districts, were the Automated Weather Stations (AWS) are located, Amberpet mandal stood top on the list with 77.8 mm rainfall on Saturday till 3.00 pm followed by Himayatnagar, Asif Nagar, Golkonda and Saidabad that witnessed 52 mm, 35 mm, 26.5 mm and 31 mm rainfall respectively during the same period.

Only Thirumalagiri mandal recorded no rainfall since morning while this area witnessed a record 76.3 mm rainfall on October 10 and stood top of the list.

The other mandals that witnessed rainfall since morning include Maredpally 40 mm, Khairatabad 16 mm, Nampally 20 mm, Shaikpet 11.8 mm, Musheerabad 23.3 mm, Bandlaguda 6 mm, Bahadurpura 5 mm, Secunderabad  3.8 mm and Charminar 5.3 mm rainfall.

Meanwhile, with the prediction of more rains, the GHMC has alerted whatever the staff left with the civic body as most of the employees were on festive leave.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring Rangareddy district fared quite well then Hyderabad in receiving rainfall as 1.3 mm rainfall has been recorded on Saturday while the cumulative figure shows that 577.2 mm rainfall has been received between 1-16 October in the district.

Out of 27 mandal in the district Amandal received 4.2 mm rainfall since Saturday morning as on 3.00 pm followed by Talakondlapally 3.7 mm, Mudgul with 3.7 mm and Keshampet 3.2mm besides Kondurg with 2.3 mm rainfall since morning. Rajendranagar, standing close to the city received 1.3 millimeter rainfall since morning.
