American Booked For Assaulting Police During Anti-Encroachment Drive in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh police recently arrested an American woman during an anti-encroachment drive in Vrindavan city. The arrested, who identifies herself as Rebecca, from California has been residing in Mathura city for the past five years.

Radha Dasi Booked Under Four Sections of IPC

As per the latest reports, Rebecca, locally known as Radha Dasi, allegedly assaulted woman police during an anti-encroachment drive. She has been booked under the IPC sections  307 (attempt to murder),353 (assaults or uses criminal force to any person being a public servant in the execution of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causes hurt to any person being a public servant in the discharge of his duty) 147 (rioting) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at Vrindavan police station based on a complaint filed by a sub-inspector (SI), Ritu.

Circle Officer (Sadar), Gaurav Tripathi spoke to the media. He said that an anti-encroachment drive was being carried out by the municipal corporation with the help of the police. The woman allegedly objected to the demolition of a hut on public land and tried to stop the JCB by sitting in front of it.

While a female police officer was trying to remove her, Rebecca allegedly misbehaved and grabbed her by her neck. Police said that she later claimed that the cottage belonged to her guru (mentor). He added that further investigations are on.

The SI accused the “foreigner” of repeatedly threatening her by saying that her life will be finished.

Journalist From Uttar Pradesh Fears “Threat to Life” by Liquor Mafia; Dead

The above event comes after a journalist recently wrote the Uttar Pradesh police about the threat to life from a liquor mafia. However, the journalist who goes by the name Shulabh Srivastava has died in a road accident on June 13.

Shulabh Srivastava, 42 worked as the district correspondent of news channel ABP News. While stating that prima facie,he died in a road accident, the police noted they were probing all other angles.
