Argentina Approve Chinese Covid 19 Vaccine For Children As Govt Lifts Restrictions

Amidst the Covid 19 pandemic and the rising concern of the Delta variant, Argentina has recently allowed emergency use of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm for children. The age limit is from 3 years old to 11 years old.

Argentina To Complete Vaccination For Children Above 3 By This Year

As per the recent announcement made by the Health Minister Carla Vizzoti, there are around 6 million children that fall under the indicated age group. He said that Argentina intends to complete the vaccination for the children by the end of this year.

Education authorities also showed support to the decision. They said that they expect that the decision to vaccinate the children would help them to continue class room learning across the country. Since the beginning of the pandemic early last year, Argentina has registered a sum of 5,263,219 Covid cases and 115,379 deaths.

Argentina Announces Lifting Almost All Covid Restrictions Amidst Fall In Cases 

The above decision comes after a few days back Argentina announced lifting of almost all the Covid 19 restrictions. The country saw a dramatic fall in the Covid 19 cases and deaths in the past couple of months.

Presidential Cabinet Chief Juan Manzur said that if the number of Covid 19 cases continue at the same pace, they could be experience the end of the pandemic. The lifting restrictions include no mandatory masks along with opening stadiums with 50% capacity.

In a radio interview, government Covid Adviser, Luis Camera said that for them is about to reach its end. However, even though the pandemic ends, the virus continues.

Meanwhile, Intensive Care Doctor Arnaldo Dublin said that they are at a very good place at the hospital he works in. He said that they have not admitted a single covid 19 patient in the intensive care. However, he wouldn’t dare say that the pandemic is over.
