After series of inaugurations of various civic works in Jalpally, Meerpet and Tukkuguda municipalities in Maheshwaram constituency, the Minister for Education P.Sabitha Indra Reddy will inaugurate civic works to the tune of 2.24 crores in several area of Badangpet Municipal Corporation on Saturday.
According to sources the minister, who also represents Maheshwaram constituency, will visit the Badangpet corporation on February 6, along with the officials from Municipality, Revenue, Irrigation and Mission Bhagiratha to lay foundation stones for the works approved by the corporation.
This visit allows people of different colonies to interact with the minister and apprise her of the civic issues they are living through for years. Also, the officials accompanied by the minister too will lend a patient ear to public issues they may get an impromptu solution to the grievances.
Civic works like SW pipeline, CC Roads and HDPE pipeline for water connections will be laid in several colonies to facilitate the people facing issues.

Areas such as Maruthi Nagar, Nine Hills Colony, Libra Colony, Rathna Colony, Sapthagiri Colony, Janapriya Colony, RMR Colony, Sri Nilaya Colony and Sri Nitaya Colony will witness civic works.
The series of civic works were grounded recently in different municipalities of Maheshwaram constituency. Only last week, the minister inaugurated a slew of civic works in Thukkuguda and Jalpally Municipalities followed by Meerpet Municipal Corporation. Most of the works approved in Jalpally municipality which is considered as an extremely backward area on the city outskirts consist of 28 densely populated slum wards with multiple civic issues.
Though the municipality is jointly represented by alliance partners like TRS-AIMIM, the municipality was seen lagging behind development works and still need more funds and indulgence of the government to get rid from a vice-like grip of backwardness.
However, unlike in the past the municipality is somewhat getting into life with frequent approval of funds to address several issues faced by the people. Apart from CC roads, works of sewerage and water supply lines too are being taken up in several wards recently that bring cheers on the faces of people who were facing civic issues for years.
However, garbage collection and sanitation besides proper health care measures still needs a comprehensive approach to propel the Jalpally on par with other neighbouring municipalities.
