Banjara Hills police question BJP agent Nanda Kumar in cheating case

After taking him into custody from Central Prison Chanchalguda, Banjara Hills police questioned the alleged BJP agent Nanda Kumar for about five and a half hours on Monday.

A court gave police two-day custody of Nanda Kumar, who was caught along with two other alleged BJP agents while attempting to lure TRS (BRS) MLAs.

He was questioned by the Banjara Hills police in connection with the cheating cases filed against him regarding the Deccan Pride Hotel in Film Nagar. At least five people had filed police reports against Nanda Kumar, claiming that he had cheated them after collecting money and illegally renting out the Deccan Hotel property.

According to sources, the police questioned him about the financial transactions and his dealings with the victims who filed complaints. The police will question him again on Tuesday.

Nanda Kumar was arrested after the police filed a PT warrant. The police had sought his arrest in order to question him in connection with one of the five cases filed against him.

SIT brings in Pratap, Nanda Kumar’s wife for questioning

On Friday, the Special Investigation Team investigating the MLA poaching case questioned city-based lawyer Pratap Pogulakonda. Chitra Lekha, Nanda Kumar’s wife, who was previously arrested, also appeared before the SIT on Friday.

Meanwhile, Srinivas, a lawyer from Karimnagar who was questioned for three days in a row by SIT officials in connection with the case, did not appear and requested permission because he needed to undergo surgery.

The other two were questioned separately beginning at 11 a.m., allegedly about their ties to the three suspects in the case, Ramchandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar, and Simhayaji Swami. The interrogation was taking place at the Integrated Command Control Centre.

According to sources, their statements were recorded in addition to verifying their call data records and bank statements to establish financial transactions with the suspects.

While Pratap was questioned by SIT officials about his relationship with the suspects, Chitra Lekha was questioned about financial matters involving Nanda Kumar, the other two suspects, and some other private individuals. The SIT interrogated them until 5.30 p.m.
