Bitter experience for the sweet shop owners of Hyerabad

Hyderabad: A bitter and harsh time has been observing by the sweet shop owners of the Hyderabad City and their life drastically becomes sour. Delightful, adorable, scented, attractive and good looking sweets are no more part of the shops as earlier, thanks to the post Covid19 circumstances which turned the sweet business into sour and acrid.

Sweets which was the inevitable part of any auspicious occasion, birthday parties, marriages, and other functions, turned to be frivolous in post-COVID 19 states of affairs. The owners of the sweet shops are facing catch22 situation now. Reasoning many compelled to put their shutters down. The remaining units have forced to limit the items by following the Covid19 rules as only a handful of customers are buying their stuff.

The owners are now offering Mixture Khara, boondi ,chakoodi, besides a few other items of sweets. They are eyeing now for Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasehra, Diwali and other important festivals to retain the past glory of their business. Many of them have forced their non-local workers to leave for their native places as the business is dull in present circumstances.

Due to the despondent situation, many of the depressed owners exclaimed that they are not familiar with these conditions as a large number of people are not buying the outside stuff and their business become lackadaisical. The corona pandemic has not only to affect their trade but also it has changed the overall situation of the sweet market.

One of the sweet house owners has affirmed that now the priority of many customers is only Khara,chakodi, meethi boondi besides few items and nobody wants to buy the regular sweet items. He claimed that the 30 to 50 percent business has come down drastically and making of sweet stuff also comes down. He hoped that the situation will be better in the future if the government take the proper action in prompt time to tackle the fear of the masses.
