BJP MLA booked for fake covid-19 reports in court

Uttar Pradesh:- A case of forgery and cheating has been filled on the orders of the High Court against BJP MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel of Mehdawal and chief medical officer (CMO) of Sant Kabir Nagar Dr. Hargovind Singh for making a fake covid-19 report. The case was registered at Kotwali police station on Saturday.

As per the orders given by, Deepkant Mani the additional sessions judge, the MLA presented a fake positive Covid-19 report when asked about his absence in a case under the court jurisdiction. The case proceedings are not moving ahead for the past four years as BJP MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel has not appeared in the court once.

When the court ordered him to be present, he presented a fake covid-19 report, the order said.

The chief medical officer had submitted the reports before the court and said that the BJP MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel went into home isolation after a private lab covid-19 test. However, home isolation team members Dr. Vivek Kumar Srivastava told the court that the MLA was not present at home and was also not reachable on the mobile.

Incharge of the Khalilabad Kotwali Manoj Kumar Pandey said “A case under Section 467 (forgery of valuable security), Section 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), section 471 (whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine any document or electronic record), section 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), and ) section 420 (cheating and dishonesty) of IPC, has been filed against BJP MLA MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel and chief medical officer Dr. Hargovind Singh on the orders of the court”.
