Bus tickets issued by TSRTC wish passengers happy Independence Day

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) extended a symbolic gesture towards its passengers this Independence Day. Throughout the State, all bus tickets purchased during this holiday period will bear a note wishing the passengers a ‘Happy Independence Day.

The TSRTC tweeted a picture of a bus ticket along with a question asking whether the ticket had changed. “Did you notice something? Reply with #IDayWithTSRTC,” they wrote. An Independence Day wish is included at the bottom of the white and pink ticket along with the travel details.

Users quickly responded with greetings on the ticket in response to the tweet. One user wrote, “Independence Day message, well-done TSRTC,” while some others used the platform to ask the TSRTC to reduce the bus charges for the occasion.

Some users shared their own bus ticket pictures containing the message, expressing their delight at finding it. As part of the Swathantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu initiative undertaken by the State government, buses in the city are adorned with national flags on both sides.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will launch the day-to-day event in Greater Hyderabad as part of the State government’s ‘Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsava Dwi Saptaham’ to mark 75 years of Independence.

A series of events will be held by the civic body from Tuesday onwards. In the course of the initiative, public representatives will distribute tricolor flags door-to-door within their respective circles, divisions, and constituencies. Furthermore, there will be plantation drives, cultural programs, a Kavi sammelanam at the GHMC Head Office, and blood donation camps throughout the district.

During the 15-day celebration for Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsava Dwi Saptaham, the authorities urged citizens to participate. The Commissioner of GHMC, Lokesh Kumar, invited the public to participate in the 15-day program. A special program will be conducted every day by the State government to inspire the next generation about the freedom struggle, according to GHMC. From Tuesday, public representatives will distribute the national flag door-to-door.

After receiving the tricolor flag, everyone is required to hoist the flag and contribute to the country’s prestige. “You need to follow the protocol when hoisting the national flag,” said Lokesh Kumar. Flag hoisting protocols should be followed to preserve the dignity of the Tricolor flag. Criminal charges will be filed against those who fail to follow them.” he said.
