Hyderabad: The Centre today appreciated the Telangana state for the achievement of supplying 100 per cent potable water to rural areas.
Union Jal Shakti Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Twitter gave pat to Telangana state for supply of water to villages.
Now Goa and Telangana have also joined the league of 100% FHTC states.
With this, we have inched closer to ensuring India's rural households getting equipped with tap water connections.

Shekhawat said that the Centre will soon take up a similar program to provide potable water to rural pockets across the country. The Minister tweeted that Goa followed suit and also achieved a similar target to give purified drinking water to its rural people.
The centre has similar plans to give purified waters to villages that are so far deprived of that facility he said. Both Telangana and Goa states have achieved 100 percent HFTC, the union minister said. A total of 54 lakhs of households are getting pure water he added.
