Centre Puts “Quantitative Ban” On Certain Syringes To Increase Domestic Availability

In the latest update, the Central government on Saturday has put quantitative restrictions on the export of syringes. This comes as a measure the boost domestic availability for the same. However, the restrictions will be applied for three months.

Union Health Ministry Clarifies That It’s Not “Export Ban” 

Soon after the announcement was made, the Union Health Ministry clarified that the ban on the export of syringes is not “export ban”. It is rather an quantitative restriction on the export for a certain type of specified syringes for a limited time period of three months.

The statement released by the Union Health Ministry said that they have a firm political commitment to vaccinate the Indian citizens following the philosophy of Antyodaya espoused by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. For the same, the Union government has already put n place a quantitative restriction on the export of syringes to boost their availability in India.

As per the latest reports, the Central government has put the quantitative restriction on the export of 0.5 ml/1 ml AD syringes 1/2/3 ml RUP syringes and 0.5/1/2/3 ml disposable syringes.

India To Reach 100 Crores Vaccine Dosage Mark Soon 

Meanwhile, the Domestic Vaccine Manufacturers and Manufacturers of Syringes have played a crucial role in the effective implementation of the world’s largest Covid 19 vaccination programme. India so far has administered around 94 crores vaccination doses till now. And reaching the 100 crores dosage mark doesn’t seem too far.

Meanwhile, India reported 19,740 Covid 19 cases and 248 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With 79,12,202 vaccine doses received in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage nears 94 crore mark as per provisional report till 7 a.m. on Saturday.
