Centre Wrote a Letter to Chief Minister KCR on the Paddy Procurement Row

The Centre today clarified that they wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the paddy procurement row.

In a written reply in the parliament, the Centre said that they have already given its version on the paddy procurement.

Reacting to TRS MPs demand on paddy procurement and increased quota the centre gave a written reply in the parliament.

We promised to take 40 lakh metric tons and the Telangana government urged us to increase it. KCR wrote the Centre to increase the stocks of paddy to procure to 90 lakh metric tons, the centre informed.

KCR wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard and we procured more stocks than promised, the Centre replied.

The Centre said that it will take steps on the demand to increase at an appropriate time. The Centre will focus on farm yield, market surplus and area of cultivation in the states and get the stocks.

We will take a call whether to increase or decrease the stocks to be procured based on factors involved, the centre said.
