Despite there is no decline in road accidents throughout Hyderabad city especially in the old city area, the Charminar Zone got a total 100 kilometers of road works sanctioned under a comprehensive road maintenance program (CRMP). These works are in a different stage of execution.

M.Venkatarao (MVR) Infra Projects Private Limited has been awarded a total of 100 kilometers of road works in the entire Charminar Zone. These works are being taken up in six circles such as Charminar, Falaknuma, Rajendranagar, Malakpet, Santoshnagar, and Chandrayangutta in Charminar Zone. Out of total 100 kilometers of works, the Rajendranagar area got a share of around 28.7 kilometers.

“We have completed over 50 percent works in Rajendranagar so far that includes 6 kilometres of the whole one side stretch from Pillar No. 117 to Pillar No.318 Aramghar cross road. On Attapur side under PVNR Expressway, he said, “First layer of DBM (Dense Bituminous Macadam) work to almost 1.5 kilometre stretch from Pillar No. 294 to Pillar Number 245 on Attapur stretch has been completed. However, the next level BC layer (Bitumen concrete) work will start from today on wards to be completed in next one and a half day.”

It is not out of place to mention here that, several complaints of pathetic road condition at Attapur stretch appears in a section of media that put the CRMP authorities on their toes.

It is said that the Attapur stretch from Pillar No. 245 Sulemannagar to 294 Shivrampally was left untouched for days after pavement milling work (scratching of road) under Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme CRMP causing great inconvenience to the road users in Rajendranagar.

As the entire stretch became a perilous route for the commuters with most of the passengers were losing balance of the vehicles while passing through the road almost all the way to five kilometres, people start raising panic button. The situation, they said, often leads to skirting of bikes and motors causing only to leave drivers with road rashes.

However, the CRMP officials pick up the pace of the works and have assured that the works will be completed soon to make the stretch much safer than earlier for a smooth ride.
