City Police Commissioners assure protection to RTC crew willing to rejoin duties

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Sunday assured that the safety and security of RTC employees, who were willing to rejoin duties, would be taken care.

In a statement, the Commissioner said all the bus depots were provided with sufficient protection under the leadership of inspectors and anyone trying to take law into their hands would be dealt with firmly. Those attempting to damage public property or forcibly prevent the workers willing to join duties would be arrested, he said.

In another statement, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C.Sajjanar said RTC employees working in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits can join back duties without any fear or apprehension and the police would ensure their safety and security. Sajjanar said strict action would be taken against those who attempt to prevent the willing staff from joining back duties. The RTC workers, who wish to come back to city, if prevented or threatened by anyone, can report the matter to the local police station. They can also dial 100 or make use of Cyberabad Police WhatsApp number 9490617444, Sajjanar said.

Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat has appealed to the striking TSRTC workers to resume their duties without fear. He assured adequate protection to all those reporting to their duties. The Commissioner warned those trying to stop or prevent any TSRTC employees, who want to join duties willingly. “Stringent action will be initiated against anyone preventing any employee from joining duty. Our Inspectors and other officers are present at all the bus depots and terminals,” he said,  adding that those trying to create mischief will be arrested and prosecuted. Bhagwat asked the TSRTC employees to contact the nearest police station or Dial 100 in case they need any assistance from the police. (NSS)
