CM KCR unveils Telangana police command and control center

A new Integrated Command and Control Center for the Telangana State Police was inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday at Banjara Hills.

Among those accompanying him were Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, Cinematography Minister T Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and Telangana DGP Mahendar Reddy.

With a total cost of Rs 600 crore, the building has a helipad on top, a disaster and crisis management center, a data center, and a war room with a live feed from surveillance cameras across the city.

With a total area of 6.42 lakh square feet, the state-of-the-art facility includes a 480-seat auditorium and 600 four-wheeler and 350 two-wheeler parking spaces. Designed to integrate field-level policing with back-end technology, the 273-foot-tall facility is 273 feet tall.

The Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and all its verticals will be housed in the twenty-story Tower A. Anurag Sharma was the director general of police (DG) and Mahendar Reddy was the commissioner of police in Hyderabad when the project began. In Tower A, the police commissioner’s office would be on the 18th floor.

In Tower B, fifteen floors will house technology fusion centers and backups related to other wings such as Dial 100 emergency response, women safety, cybercrime, narcotics detection, and crime detection centers.

Tower C is home to a 480-seat auditorium, while Tower D is a media and training center. Various state government departments will be accommodated in Tower E on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors, as well as the command control and data center. A CCTV monitoring system, a war room, and a receiving area will also be available.

Using its glass facade to maximize natural light, the facility reduces energy consumption by up to 50%, according to officials. The construction uses only recycled materials and no wood. On-site, solar panels will produce up to 0.5 megawatts of electricity and a sewerage treatment plant will be built.

Approximately 35 percent of the land area is dedicated to greenery and amenities like a gym and health and wellness center. On the 14th and 15th floors, there is a museum showcasing the history of Telangana police and a 360-degree viewing gallery.
