CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy Slams Telangana Govt

The Chief Minister of AndhraPredash YS Jaganmohan Reddy today lashed out at Neighbouring Telangana state and alleged that the Neighbouring state was violating all existing regulations in the issue of Krishna waters and added that the state losing its quota of waters due to the reluctant attitude of Telangana.

The CM, Jaganmohan Reddy wrote one more letter to the Union Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on the issue amid the raging dispute over the Krishna waters. In his letter, he told the Union Minister that the Telangana government was producing Hydel power by violating the rules and added that the power was being generated without taking permission from the Krishna river management board.

He alleged that the board was also showing its curiosity to inspect the Rayalaseema lift Irrigation scheme instead of taking action against the illegal projects being constructed by the Telangana government on the Krishna river. He said that the board should first inspect the illegal promise of the Telangana government before visiting the Rayalaseema project. He said that the Krishna waters was going to waste in the ocean due to the attitude of the Telangana state.

He said that the power was being generated in the Srisailam despite the water levels are below 834 feet. He said that the Telangana government had used 19 tmc of water from June 1, 2021 to produce the power. He said that it would be impossible for Srisailam reservoir to reach its full tank level if the Telangana state continued its power generation and added that the projects which are dependent on Pothireddypadu would not get water creating problems to Rayalaseema and Nellore and Prakasam districts.

Give permissions early

On the other hand the CM has also written another letter to union environment and forest Prakash Javdekar and urged him to accord permissions to the Rayalaseema lift irrigation project. He told the minister that they had uploaded the DPR of the project on the website of the central water commission on June 30 last month. He told the minister that they were not gathering any land for the project.
