Complete Akkannapet-Medak Railway Line Works: Harish to Officials

Finance Minister T Harish Rao today stated that rail siren should be heard at Medak district in four to five months.

The Finance Minister agreed to release Rs 25 funds sought by engineering officials towards the completion of the remaining works of the railway line in the district.

Harish Rao inaugurated an MLA camp office and a viral research and diagnostic laboratory in Medak town. While the officials spent Rs 1 Cr for MLA camp office Rs 35 lakhs used for the new lab he said.

Later at a review meeting with officials, Harish Rao said that Rs 40 Cr already given for the railway line and will give Rs  25 Cr for the purpose. He instructed railway, finance, and other officials to expedite works at the earliest.

The Minister directed that the new railway line has to be started from Akkannapet to Medak without any delay.  The works of the new railway line with stations, facilities, and infrastructure are almost complete he says.

He expressed content that the works are completed 95 percent and the rest of 5 percent be completed soon.  The Minister said that irrigation projects in the segment be completed by getting funds. He asked to complete land acquisition for Ghanaouram barrage and the Haldivagu project.

He said that Rs 5 Cr released for the purpose and Rs 8 Cr to be released to acquire land and take up construction works. This will irrigation thousands of acres he said.

Kaleshwaram waters to be used for local irrigation projects as proposals sent to Government for Rs 55 Cr and Rs 25 Cr more for Haldi vague modernization to complete related cement lining and other works.
