Corona Vaccination 4 Days a Week, 3.15 Lakh Health Workers to Get: Officials

HYDERABAD: As part of the corona inoculation drive across the country beginning Friday, Telangana Government has prepared to kickstart the program in as many as 1213 centers across the state. Initially, 30 persons of health staff each will be administered with Corona vaccination as planned for four days a week including — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The state government has obtained the details of 3.15 lakh people of health staff both the government and private hospitals so far for the purpose of vaccination against Covid 19.

Talking to media persons ahead of the big event to be started, the health director Dr. Srinivas Rao along with DME Ramesh Reddy has disclosed that 139 centers will first begin the corona vaccination.

The officials informed that initially 30 persons of health staff each will be administered with Corona vaccination as planned for four days a week including — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday respectively.

From primary health centers to teaching hospitals all arrangements were made for the vaccination drive they said. We have received 3.84 lakhs of jabs and 50000 each was distributed to the districts. Nodal officers will monitor the vaccination drive and take care of the problems if any.

Then it will be extended to 1213 centers in a phased manner, the health director said. We are taking all steps in this regard and made necessary arrangements, he said.  The details of 3.15 lakhs of health workers are kept in Covin software of the government, they said.

Even as the entire country is gearing up for the historic drive for corona vaccination, the Telangana government is getting ready for the big event.

All arrangements have been made for the Corona inoculation program as planned from Jan 16, which is Friday. As said, Health Minister E Rajender is to take the Corona jab in the city as said earlier to allay fears and doubts on the vaccine to fight Covid 19.

The state will take up the vaccination drive in 139 centers across the state and first the front-line warriors of health staff and workers will get the vaccine, the officials said.

As per central guidelines and ICMR norms the vaccination drive will be taken up in the city and all districts. As per the stipulated norms, these doses are kept in cold storage and will be administered to the health wing officials who are front-line warriors. The officials have made elaborate arrangements in this regard as per directions from Chief Minister,  K Chandrasekhar Rao.
