Hyderabad: High Court today gave its verdict to count the votes in the Neredmet division as part of the GHMC polls. On hearing the arguments the court paved way for the counting which was stalled due to its previous orders. Out of 150 divisions, the results of 149 were announced except the Neredmet division due to the use of other symbols than the swastika symbol. According to information 544 votes were polled with other symbols and the TRS candidate reportedly got 504 votes. The officials were asked to conduct the counting of these votes. While the TRS candidate got 504 votes majority in this division 544 more votes are still to be counted. The court direction came as a relief for the political parties as it cleared for counting of the same in the division whose results are to be announced.
The State election commission gave a circular to make use of the symbol in addition to that Swastik. The court heard the case by the BJP legal cell on the issue and directed for counting of the remaining votes. Thus the last division result of the GHMC polls to be out soon.
