Covid vaccination suspended in Andhra Pradesh

The ongoing Covid vaccination drive has come to a screeching halt in Andhra Pradesh. The collectors of various districts of the state have announced the temporary suspension of the administration of the vaccine.

The collectors of Chittoor, Vizianagaram, Krishna, Nellore, East Godavari, Kurnool, Guntur Prakasam, and Kadapa districts have stopped the vaccination process. The state has 3.5 lakh doses of the vaccine. The authorities of the state government are making arrangements to administer the second dose of the vaccine. On the other hand, the authorities are also discussing changes to be made in the Covin registration app.

The authorities are saying that they have decided to stop the vaccination process to reduce the crowd at the vaccine Centers of the state. The vaccination process is being implemented for three categories of people.

The first category is frontline warriors, the second category is people above 60 years of AGR and the third category is the people who are above the age of 45 years. The Asha workers of the state would visit the houses of the three categories of the people and distribute tokens with the scheduled date of their vaccination.
