Delhi CM Requests Haryana and Uttar Pradesh For A United Front Against Covid 19

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the neighbouring state governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to come together to fight against the Coronavirus.

Delhi Government Blames Haryana and UP Governments For Blocking The Supply of Oxygen to Delhi

Delhi does not have its own supply of medical oxygen. So the supply comes from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh after being allotted by the Central government. However, recently Delhi hospitals have been facing a shortage of Oxygen supplies.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal recently addressed the concerns in a virtual conference. He said that Delhi needs a supply of 700 tonnes of medical supply each day. And the Central government has supplied 480 tonnes recently.

He said that Delhi needs more supply of medical oxygen but they are grateful for what they have received so far. At the same time, Delhi government recently blamed the Haryana and the Uttar Pradesh governments for blocking the supply of medical oxygen.

“I have personally spent entire nights attempting to ensure oxygen supply to city hospitals,” Kejriwal said.

He also said that this is an emergency situation and everyone needs to come together to defeat this virus.

Arvind Kejriwal Assures Sharing Of Resources From Delhi As Well

During the address, Arvind Kejriwal requested the governments of UP and Haryana to come together to fight this crisis instead of allowing the borders to divide the response. He also assured that Delhi will also be providing and sharing resources like medicines, doctors, etc as when they can.

“It was a time to rise above State divisions and become Indians,” said Kejriwal.
He added that despite having the highest Covid 19 cases in the world currently, India will fight and defeat this pandemic.

Meanwhile, some of the hospitals in Delhi have set alarms for shortage of medical oxygen supply. One of the recent ones is from the Shanti Mukund hospital. The hospital authorities said that there are over 110 patients on oxygen support. And they are trying to categories the patients who don’t need oxygen and the ones who need more than 7 litres of oxygen.
