Delhi Imposes Night Curfew Amidst Rising Covid 19 Cases

Amidst the rising Covid 19 cases across the country, the national capital Delhi has announced night curfew till April 30. The curfew will be from 10 pm to 5am, starting immediately.

 

Delhi Is Going Through Fourth Wave Of COVID-19; CM

 

As per the reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the restrictions after a detailed discussion with the senion state government members. The announcement came after the pandemic infected 3548 people within 15 days in Delhi.

The announcement released by the Delhi government said that the night curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am till April 30. The decision has been made after seeing the rising numbers of the Covid 19 cases.

Last week, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi was going through the fourth wave of Coronavirus.

 

States Announce Shut Down Of Educational Institutions

 

To curb the rising numbers of active Covid 19 cases, some states have announced the shutting down of educations institutions.

The national capital Delhi announced that the students may attend the offline classes only in case of project work and for practical examinations from classes 9 to 12. However, the schools will remain closed for students up till 8th grade.

At the same time, Bihar also recently announced the shutting down of educational institutions. The Nitish Kumar government said that the institutions shall remain closed from April 5 to April 11. The dates might be extended if no drop is seen in the active cases.

But the decision was not taken well by some of the students. The students went on a violent protest against the decision. The protesting students vandalized the shops and some private properties. They also resorted to stone pelting at the police.

The police so far have arrested nine protestors in the case. The coaching Institutes said that the decision would hamper their syllabus.
