Delhi liquor scam: Kavitha’s name not mentioned in FIR or list of accused

TRS MLC K Kavitha wrote to the CBI on Monday, stating that she had checked the Delhi liquor scam complaint copy and FIR on the CBI website and that her name was not mentioned in the FIR, the list of the accused, or the complaint as well.

Kavitha also mentioned in her letter to CBI DIG Raghavendra Vatsa that due to prior commitments, she would be unable to meet them on December 6 as previously proposed, and suggested a meeting at a later date.

She stated that she was a law-abiding citizen and promised to cooperate with the investigation, stating that she would be able to meet with CBI officials at her Hyderabad residence on December 11, 12, 14 or 15 and requested them to confirm the date at the earliest.

Previously, Kavitha had asked the CBI for a copy of the FIR and related documents and was told that they were available on the CBI website.

Kavitha also met with Telangana Chief Minister and her father K. Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday, a day after the CBI sought clarifications in the Delhi liquor policy scam.

Kavitha drove to Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of Chief Minister KCR. They are thought to be discussing a strategy to counter the BJP government’s political vendetta at the Centre by targeting them through Central agencies.

She was also expected to meet with her brother, state minister K. T. Rama Rao, and other family members to discuss the latest developments.

TRS leaders are also believed to be discussing the party’s political strategy to counter investigations by central agencies such as CBI, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax against state ministers, MPs, state legislators and other leaders.

Meanwhile, a large number of TRS workers showed up at Kavitha’s house a day after she confirmed that the CBI had issued her a notice.
