Delhi Police Constable Distributing Education to Slum Kids

New Delhi: Worried about the education of poor and helpless kids, Delhi Police constable Than Singh has set up a school in a temple at the back of the Red Fort. He begins his classes at 5 in the evening after he completes his duty.

Delhi Police constable began the school in 2016 with four kids however now has right around 50-60 students from close by slums.

The students belonging to the 5-15 age group greet him when they go to school in the evening.

Constable Singh additionally gives books, book copies, pencils, and food to these kids. Some senior officials likewise help and support Singh in this respectable cause. Aside from traditional knowledge, Singh teaches the children moral values in the school and encourages the students to push ahead throughout everyday life.

Guardians of these kids fill in as laborers who barely make any money and need more money to bear the cost of their kids’ education.

Constable Singh said to IANS: “My only aim is to make these students smart enough to understand what is wrong and what is right, support their parents, are able to write their names and recognize the words written on a bus, rickshaw, shop, and other places.”

He included: “I commenced this school in 2016, with four children. Today, there are around 50 children. Few of them have returned back to their village due to the lockdown and have not returned.”

He stated: “I have grown up in a slum and know the importance of education. I don’t want these children to face the challenges I have faced. I will try my best to enhance the lives of these children. My seniors have also assisted me in this initiative. They assisted me financially so that I can resume the education of these children.”

Singh said that because of Covid-19, he needed to roll out certain changes in the educational system. Presently all the kids come to school with a face mask, sanitizers are likewise kept at the school and social distancing is additionally been followed.
