In a bizarre case of animal cruelty, Delhi police have arrested a YouTuber, Gaurav Sharma. He made the video of flying a dog in the air after tying it with a number of balloons filled with helium gas.
Gaurav Sharma Confesses to Making The Video for Entertainment Purposes
Gaurav Sharma was arrested by the Delhi Police on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Atul Kumar Thakur said that Sharma was arrested on the charges on animal cruelty. He said that they had received a complaint at the Malviya Nagar Police Station by complainant Gaurav Gupta.
Gupta belongs to the People for Animals Society and alleged that a YouTuber named Gaurav Sharma had tied a dog to the balloons and flew him. He then recorded the video and uploaded it to YouTube. He claimed that Sharma had risked the life of the dog by letting him loose the balloons and making him fly. The video was shot on May 21, claimed Gupta.

The DCP assured that a case has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, Disaster Management Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act.
The police official said that Sharma informed the police that he is a YouTuber and he made that video for his YouTube channel.
Police Arrests Man After Beating a Dog To Death
Gaurav Sharma’s case of animal cruelty isn’t the first time when someone has been arrested for cruelty against the animals. Earlier this month, a 31 year old man named Imran Shah, was arrested in Mumbai for beating a dog with a bamboo stick.
The video went viral over social media and the users tagged Mumbai police and Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil for justice. However, the man justified the act by saying that the dog had damaged his bike’s seat cover.
Police officer, Sudhir Kudalkar spoke to the media after the incident and said that he has created Whatsapp groups to receive information about animal cruelty and animal adoption.
