Demand for laptops is highest in Telangana: Report

A recent report by Amazon.in shows that the state leads the country when it comes to laptop demand, and the e-commerce giant has expanded its range of products and added new items from top brands across price points.

As Telangana continues to work from home and learn from home, laptops are becoming increasingly popular

Moreover, the report notes that Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Warangal, Nalgonda and Karimnagar are the top cities that are driving laptop sales growth in the State, along with smaller towns like Medak, Siddipet, Jangaon, Mahbubnagar, Kodad and Farooqnagar. Top brands in the region include HP, Lenovo, Dell, and Asus.

The demand for laptops in the region has increased since educational institutes opened in the region. Telangana customers are shopping for laptops on Amazon.in and using finance schemes such as no-cost EMI, according to Akshay Ahuja, director of consumer electronics at Amazon India.

2.6 million MSMEs to go online through Amazon

In Telangana, nearly 2.6 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) will go online soon. These MSMEs will gain access to Amazon’s global reach and tap into their untapped potential by partnering with the e-commerce giant.

MSMEs will be provided with technologies to offer e-commerce services through the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI). MSMEs will be helped by the two entities to digitize their operations and create an online marketing network.

As per reports, there will be skill development centres in various districts. A memorandum of understanding was signed by Amazon and FTCCI regarding the digitisation of the MSMEs in Telangana.
