Prior to the commencement of this year’s auction for IPL, likely to be held on 11th February, each team laid out its list of players that it has retained and released based on their performances in the previous edition of the cricket series and other factors.
There have been drops of some big names while many retained their core players to continue the game to incline in their favor. For IPL 2021, 8 teams are allowed to interchange their players. They can also trade capped and uncapped cricketers.

- The team who picked the trophy last year have released Basith Malinga, a shocking revelation though the Sri Lankan cricketer hadn’t played in IPL 2020 as well due to personal reasons.
