Double murder case- UP Samajwadi leader and son killed

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh): UP Samajwadi leader Chhotelal Diwakar and his son, Sunil Diwakar, got killed in the Sambhal district on Tuesday. The murder took place in broad daylight and was allegedly over a disagreement following a dispute regarding the laying of a road which is under the MGNREGA.

The victim, Chhotelal Diwakar had participation in the 2017 assembly elections as a representative of the Samajwadi Party. His party had given him the ticket for his contestation.

The leader, Diwakar and his son had gone for a stroll in the farms when the attackers came on their bike to fight them. After a short quarrel, they shot them dead. They fled on foot, leaving their motorbike behind in the crime spot.

Apparently, the murderers started warning the victims to refrain from constructing the road any firther as the limits would reach their farms. When they disagreed to do so, they shot him dead which was captured on a mobile phone.

A large number of SP workers of the nearby areas reached the village immediately after the news of the double murder spread like wild-fire.

SP Yamuna Prasad who reached the area that falls under the Behjoi police station, soon after the shootings, said that a manhunt has started to find the murderers. He said that the investigation for the further evidences and search is on its way and the bodies have been sent for post mortem.

“Chhote Lal Diwakar (SP leader), pradhan of Sansoi village had some tussle with former pradhan over MGNREGA road work. Father&son died at spot in bullet firing. Body sent for post mortem, FIR being registered, 3 teams formed, some people detained and probe on,” SP Sambhal said.

Disputes caused due to group arguments are on the verge in the country with another report of a group clashing with one from a neighboring village which resulted in the killing of a political leader who had come there to resolve the matter.
