Drones will be used by police in Hyderabad to manage traffic, law and order

Drones will be used by the Hyderabad police to manage traffic and maintain law and order in the city. The drones are designed to identify traffic congestion points.

When the drones detect traffic congestion in a particular area, police will visit the spot to ease congestion. Police will also be able to take action against traffic violators when the drones detect a problem.

The department is in the process of negotiating with vendors on the type and quality of drones that will most effectively serve the department’s needs, according to N Prakash Reddy, DCP Traffic. “It will take about three more months for the drones to start performing in real-time,” he said.

Drone trials conducted by an agricultural solutions firm

As part of the government’s initiative to promote the use of drones in farming, fertilizer maker Coromandel International conducted its first drone trials in Hyderabad on Friday.

In addition to the precision that accompanies the use of drones for spraying fertilisers and pesticides, this method is also expected to help farmers address labour shortages during peak season, as well as reduce the amount of time it takes to complete the task.

As part of its standard operating procedures, the Centre released standard operating procedures for drones used for pesticide application in December. Aspects covered in the meeting included statutory provisions, flying permissions, distance restrictions, weight classification, overcrowded areas restrictions, drone registration, safety insurance, piloting certification, operation plan, air flight zones, and weather conditions.

An acre can be sprayed with fertilizer and permitted pesticides in a matter of minutes rather than over the course of 5-6 hours with a manual sprayer. In addition, drones deliver fertilisers and pesticides equally and comprehensively at any altitude, the company said in a release.
