A 23-year-old Manipur beauty therapist died after allegedly overdosing on illegal drugs at her Kokapet apartment. The police also discovered unidentified injections and drugs in her apartment.
The victim, identified as Rosie, had recently come to the city and was working at a Narsingi spa. According to police, the victim shared a flat with her colleague Lalvenpuii.
According to the details of the case, when Lalvenpuii arrived home from work on Monday night, she saw Rosie in an unconscious state and saw that their friend Lunso was also present. Rosie had reportedly received a parcel earlier in the day and had been in the washroom for an extended period of time. Lunso, concerned, broke open the door and discovered her inside.

The police have not ruled out a suicide angle.
According to police, she took a heavy dose of drugs and suspect Rosie killed herself while under the influence of drugs.
Hyderabad Police launched a campaign to educate youth about the dangers of drug use
On 24th February, Telangana Minister of Fisheries and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav launched an anti-drug awareness campaign in Begumpet’s Classic Gardens, which was organised by Hyderabad City’s North Zone Police.
“There is a tremendous change in culture and lifestyle. Substance abuse prevention must be incorporated into the academic curriculum in order to address the growing problem of addiction. Other essential elements in preventing substance abuse include raising public awareness and providing appropriate recreation,” Srinivas Yadav stated at the event.

The minister also cited recent big arrests made by Hyderabad Police and urged the public to report any drug-related information to police.
“The initiative’s aim is to educate youth about the dangers of drug use and to engage them in the campaign,” he added.
