EAMCET-II 2016 medical paper leak case: Sri Chaitanya dean arrested

Hyderabad: Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested the suspended dean V Vasu Babu of Sri Chaitanya Group of Institutions in connection with the TS EAMCET-II – 2016 medical question paper leak case.

The Institutions State Coordinator V Narendra Babu said Sri Chaitanya Group has always been an institute of repute and never abetted anyone to join hands in any kind of malpractice or corruption again to gain institutional mileage.

CID got a fresh breakthrough in the high-profile case which was capitalised by many MBBS aspirants to secure high ranks, with the arrest of Sri Chaitanya Junior College Dean Vasu Babu,who is in-charge of six campuses and K Venkata Sivanarayana Rao, an agent for admissions in private colleges at their respective residences, CID said in a release on Thursday night.

The call data of the two arrested persons Vasu Babu, resident of Kothapet in the city and Sivanaryana Rao, native of Guntur revealed that they were in touch with suspects Dhananjay, Tauqeer and Sandeep Kumar, who conducted preparation camps using the leaked question paper at Bhubaneshwar.

The two accused were were in touch with other suspects too, who conducted similar camps with leaked EAMCET question papers at Bhubaneswar, said the release.

The duo met several times between February and July 2016, and discussed the leakage of paper and gathering of students.

They arranged six students for the camp, along with other students, at Bhubaneswar and prepared them for the exam using the leaked question papers, the release said.
