Hyderabad: Early election fever changing the political scenario in the State speedily. As part of it, TRS Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas aka DS’s exist from TRS party was confirmed and at the same time his entry into his home party Congress was also finalized, it is learnt.
According to sources, Congress party high command was given green signal to D Srinivas and he would join Congress party on September 11 in presence of AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. It is learnt that TRS MLA Bhupathi Reddy was also joining along with DS.
It may be mentioned here that DS, who continued in the Congress since his entry into politics till 2014, got joined TRS party. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS party supremo KCR offered DS first state government advisor position later offered Rajya Sabha seat. DS’s younger son Arvind suddenly joined BJP changing Nizamabad district politics speedily. His BJP joining angered TRS leaders particularly Nizamabad MP and KCR’s daughter K Kavitha. Recently, Nizamabad district TRS leaders including K Kavitha addressed a letter to KCR demanding the latter to suspend DS from the party alleging that DS was indulging in anti-TRS party activities.
Very recently, the police arrested DS’s elder son D Sanjay on the allegations of sexual harassment against Sankari Nursing college students. The arrest of Sanjay changed the mindset of DS and prompted him to take a decision on his continuing in the TRS party. Two days after Pragathi Nivedhana public meeting, DS addressed an open letter to Chief Minister asking the latter to suspend from the party or make the leaders addressed letter demanding his suspension from the party to tender apology to him.
