Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao today exhorted the officials concerned to coordinate to develop villages with all facilities.
During a meeting with officials at the Secretariat here today, the minister asked them to use Employment Guarantee Scheme funds for providing facilities in the villages with buildings for panchayat offices, CC Roads, public cemeteries , plantation and others. Ensure that every village has a nursery as part of haritha haram and ensure clean environment he said.
“Prepare a plan of action to implement the government schemes and ensure that villages are developed. In addition to greenery and clean environment in villages the officials have to provide timely funds for development. Bring funds from the Centre by coordinating with Central officials”, he asked. He also directed them to set up computer centers in mandals to deliver online services and ensure development fruits to people doorsteps. Sarpanches and their deputies have to get cheque power and use funds for rapid development. He said so far Rs 1,406 crore worth works were completed in the villages under employment guarantee scheme. He said the officials can take land from donors or find land for construction of buildings for village panchayat offices, he added. (NSS)
