Ex-servicemen urge govt to build two-bedroom houses for them in Jawaharnagar

Hyderabad: Telangana State Ex-servicemen’s welfare association founder-president Ammika Rangaiah Goud today demanded that the State government build two-bedroom houses for the ex-servicemen in the land allotted to them in Jawaharnagar under Keesara mandal of Medchal district.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Rangaiah Goud said as the ex-servicemen were facing severe hardship, the State government should understand their pathetic situation and initiate welfare measures for the ex-servicemen immediately. Stating that the then British government had allocated 5,977 acres of land in Jawahar Nagar under Shamirpet mandal in 1941 for the benefit of ex-servicemen, Goud said previous governments had diverted that land for other purposes leaving only 2,000 acres now.

He urged the State government to build two-bedroom houses in Jawaharnagar and allot them to all the eligible ex-servicemen. In the event of the State government failing to respond to their appeal, they will be constrained to launch “Sainik Garjana” by the ex-servicemen soon, he warned. (NSS)
