Expand Basthi Dawakhanas: KTR, Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad: In the wake of good public response, the State government mulls speedy expansion of “Basthi Dawakhanas” and units of Telangana Diagnostics in all corporations and old districts and keep the details online. The purpose is to ensure that common man and the low class people get immediate health services at their vicinity and officials concerned should take up steps a on war-footing.

This was stated by MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao and Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy at a review meeting in Begumpet Camp office. They directed the officials to take steps to start 28 Basthi Dawakhanas simultaneously in September first week. “We should start these health facilities in the city and start the facilities in old and new districts and municipal corporations on a priority basis. As of now, works are on to open them in 22 districts and 175 out of 500 such basthi dawakhanas will be launched by December in the city and 28 in first week of September, the officials informed.

KT Rama Rao instructed the officials to speed up the process of setting up these facilities in 500 places in pucca buildings, construct new ones and take help of IT wing and go in for mapping of the details. (NSS)
