Eye operations yet to begin, ENT services soon: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Government is yet to start operations under Kanti Velugu scheme and there is no truth in opposition charges of lapses and losing the eyes through it. This was informed by leader of the house and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during a debate in the house on thanksgiving motion to Governor Speech. The members of several parties sought clarification on some issues during the debate.

KCR alleged that the Congress member GV Ramana Reddy made false charges that some patients lost eye sight after getting treated by the Kanti Velugu team as per reports in media. There is no truth in such comments as the government did not begin operations to the patients with eye sights he clarified. As soon as we started the opposition is hasty to make false charges KCR retorted. The opposition should have patience before making charges on the schemes or programs he suggested. The government will take all steps to conduct the operations by using experts and professional doctors for the purpose besides starting ENT camps. We are committed for providing complete healthcare to the people by maintaining health files he said. Stating that 1.32 cr people have so far underwent eye tests in districts.

Poverty and negligence are the reasons why the people are not getting tests for their eyes he pointed out. However the government aware of the problem has voluntarily coming forward to provide eye care and health care for the people. Some other states are following similar schemes like Sunetra to provide eye care services he added. (NSS)
