Farmers approach HC on CM KCR’s public meeting

The farmers of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency today approached the high court of the state against the public meeting of CM KCR at Halia. The meeting is scheduled to be held on April 14.

The farmers urged the HC to cancel the public meeting as it was being held in their farmlands without taking any permission from them.

In their petition, the farmers also told the HC that no public meeting should be held as per the existing Covid 19 norms and wondered as to how the state government which is restricting the organization of various festivals, has allowed the public meeting with one lakh people.

On the other hand, the chairman of the Go-Seva Foundation chairman Kolisetti Siva Kumar urged the state election commission to cancel the public meeting by keeping in view of the growing number of Covid 19 virus cases.

The series of petitions by the farmers of the state and NGOs had become a cause of concern for the TRS party cadres. They are saying that it would be difficult for them to hold the public meeting of  the CM to hold the public meeting.
