Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Hits Back At Rahul Gandhi With “Crony Janta”

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister hit back at the Congress Mp Rahul Gandhi. In his previous statement he accused the Narendra Modi led government of “crony capitalism” after the budget was presented on February 1, 2021.

The Common “Janta” Are Cronies; Claims Finance Minister

As per the speech given by the Finance Minister of India during the parliament session. She hit back at Rahul Gandhi regarding his comments about crony capitalism. In her reply, she said their (Modi government’s) cronies are the ‘common janta (people) of the country.

 Sitharaman further added that the cronies are probably hiding behind the party which was rejected by the people of the country, as she referred to Congress. She continued and said that the party was “invited” to develop a port with no open tenders or global tenders.

Nirmala Sitharam Commented On Congress’s Position On Farm Laws

 The Minister further spoke about the Congress’s “U-turn” moves regarding farmers protests. She claimed that the Congress Governments in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab never delivered their promises for waiving the loan money for farmers.

 The Finance Minister then moved towards Rahul Gandhi’s understanding of the recently passed Farm Laws. She said that the farm laws passed by the government are for the benefit of the farmers. These will help them in selling their produce in the markets and at the prices of their choice.

 In her reply, she asked the parliament if the APMCs (Mandis) were closed after the farm laws? But the party spoke like they did. She further claimed that the newly introduced farm laws will further improve the condition of APMCs. She said that the comments made by Rahul Gandhi are an insult to the President, Prime Minister and the Speaker as he continues to insult the nation.

Finance Minister Addressed Other Comments From Rahul Gandhi

Nirmala Sitharamn further replied to the comments made by Rahul Gandhi saying, “hum do humare do” and the term “damaad”.

In her reply, she said that the person (Rahul Gandhi) who commented about the “hum do humare do” would have also spoken about returning damaads. But they didn’t. In her statement, she referred to the land deals investigations about Robert Vadra, Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law.

 She further defended the centre’s schemes about PM Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi Scheme. It offers collateral free loans to the street vendors. She said that everyone who accuses them of cheating the people, it has become a habit to constantly nag the government and create false narratives. She said that the government is constantly working towards the poor and helping them in creating a decent life.

Rahul Gandhi recently criticised the Modi Government during the Union Budget Session 2021. He accused the government for handing over the Indian assets to “crony capitalists”. He said that the Modi government was ignoring the needs of the poor and the farmers of the country.

Before the Budget Session, he took to share some of his views about what the budget should include. In the tweet, he said that the budget presented should include generating employment for farmers, better healthcare expenditures, and better defence expenditures.
