Hyderabad: In a joint operation, the Punjagutta police and Commissioner’s Task Force personnel on Sunday arrested five prime accused in the sensational murder of a businessman Telapolu Ram Prasad and seized from them three swords, a Mahindra Bolero car, one Honda Activa scooter key and four mobile phones of the principal accused.

West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police AR Srinivas said while five accused Koganti Satyanarayana alias Satyam, 60; Tekyem Shyam Sunder alias Shyam, 50; Pullivarthi Bala Naga Anjaneya Prasad, 35, Mande Pritham alias Baaji, 22 and Pullvarthi Ramu, 27, were arrested on Sunday, six others – Tirupathi Suresh, Chandika Anand, Sriram Ramesh, Sheik Azharuddin alias Chotu, Pathipati Naresh, Venkatram Reddy and others, who were involved in the murder were absconding.

The DCP said a financial dispute between principal accused Satyam and deceased Ram Prasad was the main reason behind the killing. “Satyam told us that Ram Prasad had to pay him Rs. 23 crore following a settlement in 2013. As Ram Prasad was not paying the money despite being repeatedly asked, Satyam planned and executed the murder plan with help of his associates,” the DCP said.  (NSS)
