Following protest, Wakf Board takes pain to claim property at Hayath Nagar

Taking the protest of local Muslims against the desecration of another Qutb Shahi mosque and a graveyard on a Wakf Board land at Munganoor Village near Hayath Nagar as a wakeup call, a team of Board officials visited the site and lodged a formal complaint with the police

This incident also brought to the fore the impromptu tale of desolated Wakf property that unearth from the ruins of history.

A day earlier, the local people led the team of right activists such as Osman Mohammed Khan and Mateen Shareef and others, to the area and explained them the gravity of destruction caused to the Wakf property that spreads on an extent of 10 guntas of land in Sy.No.19, in Abdullahpur Met Mandal under Turkyamjal.

Local residents protested that the mosque and the graveyard by and large disregarded by the officials and allowed to run down over the period of time. Even the local non-Muslims are stand testimony to the poignant account of the destruction of the 400-year-old Qutb Shahi mosque and graves that were obscured with a malafide intention.

According to Gurram Srinivas Reddy, a local leader well versed with the area, the mosque and the graveyard – that has spread on an extent of 10 guntas of land, carry history roots back to 400 hundred year Qutub Shahi dynasty.

“Going by the extent of devastation caused at the site, it is cleared that some vested with an intent to encroach the land have desecrated the mosque and obscured the graves, however, the local residents timely blew up the whistle,” said Osman Mohammed Khan, a social activist.

Explaining that the mosque and the graveyard collectively spread on an extent of 10 guntas in Sy.No. 19, in Munganoor Village (Erstwhile Toroor hamlet), he said, “The Qutb Shahi structure surrounded by a burial ground is a notified wakf property manifested under Serial No.2989, of Wakf gazette.

He thanked the local non-Muslim brothers for the pain and adrenaline they have shown to protect the mosque and the graveyard from the clutches of encroachers.

Later, a delegation of local people of Hayath Nagar approached Himayath Nagar Police Station and filed a complaint against the encroachers and even informed the Wakf Board officials who rushed the spot later and took stock of the destruction and filed a case in the local police station.
