Footfalls decreased, bouquet business declines in Hyd

Hyderabad: With the Covid19 Pandemic, the bouquet business of Hyd also got affected. The shops which were jam pack with the customers in pre lockdown period deserted look nowadays as no functions are being held, thanks to the epidemic the situation has changed the business strategy.

Over 500 flower shops are in the GHMC vicinity where the works relating the preparation of the number of bouquets was done earlier. Handing over the bouquets on the occasion of birthdays, anniversaries, superannuation was natural and it becomes the custom. It shows immense, good gesture and good sign which is missing now as the post lockdown conditions vary from earlier. It showed an immense impact on this trade.

The situation is worsening day by day as only limited functions and marriages are being held in the GHMC limits without much fun fare and flowers. Earlier in each shop people used to buy 50 to 60 bouquets daily however the situation is reversed now and the footfall decreased, selling up to 6 to 7 bouquets become a herculean task for them.

This showed impacts on the bread and butter of the workers of the shops, unable to bear the situation several workers left for their villages. One of the business entities told that he forced to prepare the bouquets as the major chunk of the workers has left for their cities. He pointed out that he hired 6 to 8 persons for his shop, now he only manages the shop and the situation is becoming very hard and aggravates day by day.

On one hand, the raw materials which are supposed to use in the preparation of the bouquets become dearer due to which the task of preparing the bouquets becomes very expensive and on other hand the no buyers coming in their shops. He predicted that the situation remains the same till next year. The business may be showed good signs if the government allows necessary permits for the marriages.
