The Congress leader included: Our fight is against this despicable thinking.

Prior, the party had demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for not acting in time.

The 19-year-old Dalit young girl from Hathras was cremated early Wednesday in her native village in the midst of tight security.

The family members of the 19-year-old Dalit young girl from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras passed away in a Delhi hospital of wounds sustained when she was raped, has asserted that she was forcibly cremated.

The family declared that the girl’s body was taken by the police in the night for final rites.

The girl’s brother told news organization PTI: The police have forcibly taken the dead body and my father along with them for cremation. When my father reached Hathras, he was immediately taken (to the crematorium) by the police.

The body of the girl reached the village she belonged to at around 12 PM and the cremation was done by 3 am on Wednesday.

The villagers said that they needed to take the body of the girl to her home, yet the administration pushed for cremation as soon as possible. The entry for an ambulance was prevented and lastly, cremation was done in the village.

The police, in the interim, said that the cremation of the girl was done by the family. (SP) Vikrant Veer, Director of Police, denied any urgency by police in cremation regardless of the fact that cremation ordinarily doesn’t take place at night time.

He included that the cremation was done as normal after the body came to Boolgarhi town in the Hathras area.

He confirmed that the situation is calm in the town, yet heavy police force has been dispatched.

The ruthlessness against the girl has shocked the nation across the country with a few political heads, Bollywood celebrities, and activists asking justice for her.

The case has drawn equals with the gang rape of a 23-year-old student in Delhi, who was assaulted on moving bus transport and was left to die on a side of the road in 2012.
