Forest College likely to be varsity: Harish, Indrakaran

Hyderabad: Forest and Environment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy and Finance Minister T Harish Rao today stated that the forest institute and lab will be made into a university to push the college to international standards.

We will make efforts with students’ help to upgrade the college to a university they vowed amid applause. The matter will be apprised to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his nod and then necessary steps to be taken, they said.

At a forest college convocation in Mulugu in Siddipet district, they gave away degree certificates and gold medals to the students who excelled. The officials and parents of the students attended the program.

The ministers expressed happiness that the new forest college gets a great look at international standards and the students will serve the society at a high level. The ministers promised to elevate the institution to a university level by taking the issue to the notice of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

They called upon the forest degree graduates to serve the society for development. The government gives top priority to protecting the greenery and environment they claimed. The government implements schemes of Haritha Haram and others for protecting the greenery and expanding the forest cover. It helps the state receive copious rains and rote out drought they asserted.

The Ministers asked the young generation to opt for forest studies and serve the society and the government in the future.
