Free coaching for BCs seeking government jobs in Telangana

Backward Classes Welfare Department has partnered with Edtech company ‘Unacademy’ to provide free coaching to candidates applying for 80,039 posts the government plans to fill soon.

Minister for Backward Classes Gangula Kamalakar said that his office offers free coaching to applicants from the backward classes who are preparing for the 90,000-posts exam announced recently by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to him, 75% of seats will be reserved for the BCs, 10% for the SCs, and 5% each for the STs and EBC candidates, while another 5% will be assigned to poor families irrespective of caste.

As the minister told reporters, applicants preparing for the exam are requested to register their names on the department’s website between April 6 and 16, and successful applicants will be notified once the list is screened.

Coaching is provided in 16 study circles, each of which has 25 applicants. An additional 50,000 candidates may receive tutoring over the internet. The BC Welfare Department is going to train 50,000 people through social media such as Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, and Facebook.

In addition, the department provides a six-month stipend to candidates with an annual income of less than five lakh rupees. For those who apply for Group 1 positions, a stipend of Rs 5,000 will be paid for 6 months, while for those applying for Group II positions, a stipend of Rs 3,000 will be paid for 3 months.

The online test will be held on April 16 at 11 a.m., according to Mr Burra Venkatesham, with registration open until 10 a.m. the following day. The results will be announced immediately. The top 5% will be selected for Grocoaching, and the remaining 5% will be selected for Group-II and SI coaching positions.
