Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced special funds of Rs 10 cr for Zilla Parishads for development of villages. He appreciated the newly-elected Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, chairmen, vice-chairmen and others, who met him at Pragathi Bhavan here.
The ZPs will get financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s special funds, he said. The Chief Minister also appealed to district administrations to focus on welfare and development programs. “We have 32 districts in Telangana and they should be on top in terms of development”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister instructed them to vie for development of their villages in the zilla parishads and mandal parishads. Stating that victory and defeat are common in the polls he said that the new leaders should try to develop villages as ideal on the lines of Mulkanur, Gangadevipally and Ankapur. “I informed Central Finance Commission that new ZP chairpersons are given minister of state ranks and will work actively for developing their villages”, he said. “Like never before, the TRS won 32 ZPs and responsibility on us has grown more”, KCR said.

Earlier the ZP chairpersons and Chairmen had no work and now you have to more actively to achieve goal of all round development, KCR said. Centralised powers will not help and panchayat raj system has paved way for development at villages by taking up works.
